Without Sin is an immersive experience for two people in which they are guided by light, sound and prompts into conversation with each other. Drawing from the Irish Catholic tradition, it mirrors the ritual of confession in style and appearance, but aims to turn the outcome on its head. Whereas in confession we are forced to summon our guilt and remorse, Without Sin aims to frame our fears, desires and regrets as common ground on which we can all connect as humans.
First presented at Another Love Story festival in August 2022, followed by Dublin Fringe Festival in September 2022, it went on to tour Ireland and the UK in 2023. The tour culminated in a 4-week, sold out run at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2023, the world’s largest performance arts festival.
Nominated for the First Fortnight Award at the Dublin Fringe Festival which celebrates work that challenges stigma and prejudice about mental health through art.
Funded by the Arts Council/An Chomhaírle Ealaíon, Dublin City Council, Dublin Fringe Festival's Make Space for Art Fund, the Office of Public Works (OPW) and Dublin Castle.
